It’s actually pretty amazing. The connections I’m making and the people I’m meeting kind of blow me away. I mean, I’m doing menial things such as selling tickets and doing backstage work, but it’s worth it to get some experience and rent money. As for Beauty and the Beast, I’m the understudy for Gaston. I’ve done two shows so far, but I’m actually really hoping for this audition I have coming up.

You were going to take a gap year? Well, Rachel, you know that never works. I mean, it worked for me, but I never did make it to college. It’s just not the place for me. College is the place for you, however. And you’re going to be phenomenal. You can’t let anyone hold you back from that and the Rachel I know would never allow it.

That’s wonderful, Jesse. I’m happy for you. That’s a great way to look at it. Anything helps in this business. Well, if you ever do another one, let me know. I’d love to go. Oh, really? What is it for? 

It’s not as though I was planning on never coming to New York/NYADA, though. Finn, Kurt, and I had plans to come together and after receiving the news that they didn’t get in, I decided to just simply wait. That’s all. But like I said, Finn had other plans. Plans that I had absolute no knowledge of. What matters is that I’m here now. No sense dwelling on the past. Thank you for the compliment, though.

Oh, of course. Although I’m not sure if Quinn would appreciate me referring to you as ‘hot’ but I will admit you are attractive. Aside from those qualities, you’re someone whose friendship I value a great deal. That sounds nice. Have fun!

Actually, no. I decided to step down from my coaching duties shortly after we lost Nationals. I’m actually in New York now, working at Gershwin theater and being an understudy for Beauty and the Beast. I’m sorry I haven’t looked you up, but until just recently, I had heard you were still in Ohio, not planning to make the move.

Oh, I see. Well, good for you. Wow, the Gershwin theater. What’s that like? What part are you understudying for? And that’s quite alright, Jesse. I understand. I’m sure you were just busy. Yes, well, things changed. I was actually planning on simply waiting a year, for Kurt and Finn but apparently he had other plans. Regardless of what happened, I’m here now and I suppose I have him to thank.

You’re welcome. Not that I ever had any doubts in your coaching abilities but I can honestly say you exceeded my expectations. Are you going to continue coaching this upcoming year? I did! Thank you very much. There were a few unexpected changes along the way but I’m here now and that’s all that matters.

I’m so glad to hear that. I knew you were making the right decision in going there. Yale is… absolutely wonderful. Did I tell you I’ve joined a sorority? I know it’s sort of.. expected of me, but I figured I’d let you know. The girls are sweet. It’s a nice change considering the Cheerios.

Well as you know, it wasn’t entirely my decision but I suppose in the end, things worked out for the best. That’s so great, Quinn! I’m so happy for you. Oh, a sorority? How is that going? My knowledge on sororities is rather sparse, outside of cheesy horror movies. What exactly does it entail?
